This is the most often heard comment after a presentation on social media. I have had two different conversations this week (and it's only Tuesday!) about this reaction and how to work with it. Being a believer in the power of social learning and diffusion theories I think the answer lies in showcasing the innovators and coping models. Then building the efficacy of the early adopters, weaving or reinforcing the links between different networks of practitioners and letting their WOM take over from there. [Note to JupiterResearch: That's MY short version of social network marketing.]
Here's an update from an earlier post on podcasts.
For those of you worried about YouTube, don't, the Office of National Drug Control Policy is there. And doing the right things from what I've seen so far.
The Director of CDC's Center for Health Marketing has his blog up and running.
In the past six weeks, the CDC has been working on its podcasting chops.
Psst...pass them along. And please send other examples along for future updates.
