B-School Grads to Promote Condoms

"The post-graduate market is getting much more competitive and because of that, students are recognizing what they need to do to succeed. This is contributing to a trend toward more safe and healthy college behavior, as well as the avoidance of high-risk alcohol use."
The refining of policies and enforcement of these policies has also impacted the number of students who drink irresponsibly, Loew said. There is also an increased push towards educating students on how alcohol impacts their lives.
Loew said that Purdue recently received a $300,000 grant that will utilize a comprehensive program to help professors, teaching assistants, advisers and parents to discourage students from underage drinking.
"This is a social-marketing campaign," she said. "There are a lot of components, and we hope to address the issue from every facet possible."
