Yes it's a health communication campaign and does not have a lot of the elements of a full social marketing program - heavy on what I call the un-4Ps of marketing: posters, pamphlets, PSAs and publicity. But the notable item is where I found it: today's The Huffington Post.
Yes, public health campaigns aimed at tweens and teens have advertised and promoted on social networking sites, but a campaign aimed at adults through blogs? Finally (I've seen one anyway)!
Kudos to the Post, one of the most read blogs for running the ad on the main page. For those of you who wonder (or know people who do) whether social media is something to be considering in your communications mix if your audience isn't teens - take note! Especially if you're going after the influentials.
BTW - dontpassgas is a new riff on the 'take it outside' approach to environmental tobacco smoke from the American Legacy Foundation and Ad Council.
